Y2K BRINGS NEW MARKETING CAMPAIGN, INCLUDING
INTERACTIVE CD-ROM TO GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE
Golden West College is greeting the new year with a new marketing
campaign that includes what is believed to be the first
interactive CD-ROM produced by an Orange County community
college, and features the slogan: Oceans of Opportunity.
The campaign is intended to promote the vast opportunities
available to students both full- and part-time who take
advantage of the colleges many programs, according to Margie
Bunten, GWCs director of Marketing and Public Relations.
In addition to illustrating the value of a GWC education, the
Oceans of Opportunity campaign also highlights the colleges
physical location in Huntington Beach.
With the interactive CD-ROM, potential students can use their
computers to view a four-minute video, connect to the campus Web
site, or to view photographs and read more about GWCs academic
programs, athletic tradition and the rich fine and performing
arts environment. The CD also comes complete with printable forms
such as admission and financial aid applications.
The information in our new marketing materials will be
invaluable to students who are trying to determine where they
should go to college which is one of the toughest decisions
they must make in their lives, said GWC President Dr. Kenneth
Yglesias. Golden West College is one of the best resources a
student can use as a launching pad to a University of California
or Cal State University campus. Our new marketing materials and
campaign highlight that fact.
The CD and other informational materials are available to
prospective students from GWCs Outreach Office, which can be
reached at (714) 895-8144. The office also provides personalized
tours of the Huntington Beach campus.
