CHECKOUT A TRIO OF GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE
STARS AT THE VIDEO STORE THIS HOLIDAY
If holiday shopping takes you to the video store, get ready to
pick a trio of Golden West Colleges most notable former
students, who appeared in several of this summers blockbuster
motion pictures.
Vivica Fox, who attended GWC from 1982-87, plays Will Smiths
heartthrob in Independence Day, which grossed nearly $300
million in theaters this summer before invading the video market
in time for the holiday-shopping rush.
Mark Mancina, a Golden West music student starting in 1973, wrote
and composed the scores for the smash Twister and Moll
Flanders, a more artistic film with a classical score that
Mancina called his best work.
Don L. Harper, who started at GWC in 1970, composed the music for
the hits Broken Arrow and The Rock. He also worked with
Mancina on Moll Flanders and Assassins, which appeared in
theaters in 1985.
Those interested in becoming famous Golden West College graduates
can apply and register now for classes. Registration continues
through December 18 and resumes after the winter break on January
13, 1997. Classes begin on January 21.
