I first picked up a camera in third grade and I think it's quite possible that I haven't actually put it down just yet. Growing up, I found pleasure in rolling my own film and working in the darkroom. Today, digital photography has changed the process. But, the pleasure of seeing images come up on the screen still holds (nearly) the same magic as watching it magically appear in a tray under a red light.

I quickly learned that the best way to stay out of pictures is to be behind the camera. This self portrait puts that theory to test; regardless, it's still one of my favorite photographs. In addition to showing my passion for photography, it also reveals my support for the Anaheim Ducks with my team-color shirt and hat.
